Since June 2020 the ipso International School in Rheinfelden has a new name and a new look. This also visually underlines the affiliation to the ipso! Bildungsgruppe, which covers six schools of various educational levels across the board; from early childhood care and elementary schools, to higher technical schools. As a further highlight, the ipso International School was able to move into the new premises in Rheinfelden on Monday, August 10, just in time for the start of school.

The students and teachers of the ipso International School could solemnly move into the new classroom at Bahnhofstrasse 26 in Rheinfelden on August 10, 2020. The balloons and coloured T-shirts almost made up for the fact that unfortunately only a few parents were allowed to attend the ceremony due to the current safety regulations for events. In a short speech, Georg B. Weibel, President of the Board of Directors of ipso Bildung AG, warmly welcomed all those present and wished all children and teachers a lot of fun while learning together in their beautiful, new school building. It was a wonderful start for the ipso International School in Rheinfelden and he thanked all the hard-working helpers who made this possible. Such a huge project is not just a question of investment but requires a lot of commitment and passion from everyone.

After the official cutting of the ribbon, the pupils and teachers were able to view all the spacious subject rooms for the first time, started getting to know each other and enjoyed the first lesson in “their” new classrooms. The youngest children in the daycare and kindergarten departments enthusiastically explored their climbing and play castle, the diverse learning and play options as well as their own outdoor play area, where they opened the sandpit for the first time.

A former supermarket has been converted into a state-of-the-art school building
The former windowless and gray supermarket building directly opposite the Rheinfelden train station was extensively rebuilt over two years and now impresses with a high-quality clinker brick facade with large windows. The modern, tasteful interior meets all the requirements of a new school building. The bright, spacious classrooms, the many well-equipped specialist rooms, the multifunctional auditorium with stage and a meeting area of over 2,100 m2 inspire both the students and the teachers. In addition, around 550 m2 of roofed outdoor break space is available to the students.

The move brings benefits for everyone
The new location offers ideal teaching and learning opportunities for all ages from 1.5 to 16 years with their wide variety of requirements. All classrooms enable modern, dynamic, differentiated forms of teaching. Even the youngest can use the generous infrastructure, including mixed-class events and school performances. Loving, playful, bilingual support in daycare and kindergarten is even more fun in the modern, cozy infrastructure! Thanks to the combination of the international and the cantonal curriculum, the extremely committed, motivating team of teachers and the individual support of the children, the school is very successful. This rapidly growing primary section now also has space again to accommodate many interested children. In addition, the lower secondary level is being expanded and, in addition to the small bilingual "Bezirksschule" (pre-high school level) a bilingual "Sekundar- and Realschule" is also offered. The ideal location right next to the Rheinfelden train station makes it possible to commute comfortably from one of the surrounding communities. Around half of the children have German as their mother tongue, the vast majority of families is medium/ long-term/permanently living in the region, but mobile international families are also very welcome at any time. Transfer options from / to other schools locally and internationally are possible throughout the year.
