Overview Preschool

Early years multilingual support is based on the international educational concept known as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).

As in our preschool, priority is given to the children’s playful, bilingual development, which takes into account their different levels of development and interests. We lay the foundations for learning to read in both languages and the joy of dealing with numbers. The children are encouraged to ask questions and learn by experimenting so that they can perceive the world independently, respectfully and with a thirst for knowledge when they are older. We also set great store by outdoor free play. Through the use of our forest-related education, we provide the enthusiastic children creative freedom every Tuesday afternoon and by doing so, creating environmental awareness and respect for nature.

Regardless of the weather, we take the children outdoors every day. The broad infrastructure of the whole school is also available to the children in this age group. This includes specialist rooms for art, creativity and music. Furthermore, the programme includes active games, gymnastics, exercise and dance in the multifunctional assembly hall as well as exciting participation in school performances with primary and secondary school students.

Depending on the parents’ professional situation and decision, we offer full-day or part-time education and care for children between 4-6 years of age.

In case the obligatory preschool is completed at ipso International School, a minimum number of lesson has to be booked. That means that at least five half days in the mornings, 1 full day plus 4 mornings, 2 full-days plus 2 mornings or 3 full days have to be booked.

Children who attend the public preschool  we offer the opportunity to visit our English Club for Kids on Friday afternoons. They learn the basics of English in a playful way through immersion (language bath).
